Mark's Story

Workplace After graduating from Maranatha in 1988 I worked for the Hartford Courant for one year while my fiance(at the time), Adrienne MacDonald, finished her last year. During that year I was also the interim youth pastor at my home church, Emmanuel Baptist Church in Newington, CT. After we got married in June 1989 we moved to Lansdale, PA (a Philadelphia suburb) where I attended Calvary Baptist Theological Seminary. During this time our first child, Katelyn was born. I graduated in 1993 and took the position of Director of Youth Ministries at Positive Action for Christ (a publish...Expand for more
ing company) in Rocky Mount, NC. I wrote youth material, traveled, spoke at conferences, worked with youth pastors, etc. While in NC our second daughter, Kelcey, was born. In 1995 we moved back to CT and I became the pastor of Montauk Ave. Baptist Church in New London. During that time our son, Ryan, was born. Also during that time I returned to school at Gordon-Conwell Seminary (north of Boston) and received a post-graduate research degree. In 2002 I resigned from the church and we moved back to Lansdale, PA where I became Assistant Professor of Theology and New Testament at Calvary.
