Mark's Story
Mark Fitzpatrick, the youngest of four children, is the son of Dr. James and Frances Fitzpatrick. He grew up in Portland, graduating from Portland High School in 1969. After High School he graduated with an AS in Secondary Education from Vincennes University (1971), attended the Indiana University School of Music, and graduated with a BS in Instrumental Music Education from Ball State University (1975), He did graduate work at Indiana University, Ball State University and IUPUI. After spending four years in the field of education, he went to work for the State of Indiana. He is currently a Systems Administrator for the Indiana Office of Technology.
Mark was surrounded by music from his very beginnings. His Mother, Frances, served as the Choir Director at Portland's Asbury United Methodist church for several decades. She was also active in the Portland Musical Club and the Jay County Art's Council. uals. All four of the Fitzpatrick children pursued musical activities, both in and out of school. Mark started studying piano with Mrs. Fred Smith at the age of seven. He continued studying with Mrs. Smith until graduating from High School in 1969. His professional activities in music began in the mid 60's when he played in various local "Garage Bands". Since his High School days, he has done freelance work as a solo artist. He has also stayed active playing and singing in churches around the state of Indiana, making many visits over the years to the church he grew up in ... Asbury.
Mark currently lives in Lebanon, Indiana with his high school sweetheart, and wife, Susan. She is the daughter of Orville and Iris Freeman of Portland. Mark and Susan have three children and six grandchildren scattered from Cleveland, Ohio to Austin, Texas. For the past 20 some odd years Mark has lead worship at Love and Faith Fellowship (which merged in to the Household of Faith and became the Household of Love and Faith in 2005)
