Mark's Story
Life
After graduation, went to WMU for 1 year. It sucked. I then moved to Chicago. After getting a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science,I bought a house on LakeShore Drive in Chicago, and worked for 2 years with Marshall Fields and then 5 years with Quaker Oats. I was offered a great opportunity at Tech Data Corp in Tampa, Florida, where I've now been for 11 years. I have an awesome job which I love, a great home with an AWESOME pool, a beagle, and a diverse group of friends. I'm a TampaBay Buccaneer Season ticket holder, and play softball in several leagues. I heavily support the Arts: Public radio, and other charitable organizations. I'm a member of The Academy Chorus - a barbershop chorus, and serve as a religious guide and mentor. I'm President of a Toastmasters group(public speaking). I helped found a countywide Philosophy discussion 'think tank', and ran for the Florida House of Representatives in 2002. I've traveled to Europe twice, and spend vacations in Montreal, and Chicago - on a regular basis. Riding mountain bike and tennis are two of my favorite hobbies. I drive a 2005 Scion xB. Currently have two great roommates thst help pay my mortgage. Have a great group of straight guys that are my football and Scrabble buddies. Help coordinate a weekly cafe social group that holds several outings monthly.
I live in a historic distric in Tampa Florida...and love the old historic homes all around me. I drive over 15 miles of water every day when I go to work and come home. It's some of the most beautiful sunsets and sunrises that I've ever seen!
My brother, Doug Howard, is married with 4 kids and lives in Jefferson City, Missouri.
It's weird when I think back about Climax high school. I was a pretty religious person then and remember speaking a lot of bible stuff during my Valedictorian speech. Sorry about that everyone!
I also remember having crushes a handful of guys I was in school with.
My favorite teachers were Mrs. Stoddard (choir) and Mr. Smith (gov't, civics, current events)
College
My college roommate was Todd Cope and two guys from Wisconsin. Great time. We all worked long hours and all studied long hours...but we rented a fine apartment outside the city of Chicago.
