Mark Jeske:

CLASS OF 1981
St. paul, MN

Mark's Story

They told us that they were going to be tearing down the school in '74. It still stands today. You would think it would have more notoriety as the elemetary where Charles Schultz went. The railed window wells in his comics were definitely based on Gordon. As a courier years later, I made a delivery to one of the offices it was turned into. The lady at the desk had no idea it had been a school even though there is Richard Gordon School in big letters over the south entrance....Expand for more
The hangers 3 feet of the ground in the basement where I had my 2nd grade classroom should have been a bit of a giveaway too. Desgregation and the "combined" classes at Longfellow were a joke. My dad took us out to Fridley at the beginning of '75 and I didn't look back, but I was always curious as to where everyone ended up. Don't see any familiar names in the St. Paul Central class of '81 (where I think I would have gone if we hadn't moved), but it was a long time ago.
