Mark's Story
MARK ST JOHN is the Bass-slinger/vocalist - a dedicated and professional stylistic bluesman with over 35yrs of experience organizing, touring, producing, and recording with some of the finest traditional blues players in the business!
âÂÂST JOHNâÂÂs bass chops lock in with the drummer to create a magic shuffle groove that is definately undeniable and he states: "35 years of my passion.....for just a few minutes of yours!"
STJOHN, from the age of 6, grew up playing classical violin, then while a teen-ager, was intrigued by the professional music business, went through the usual musical trends â country and western, rock âÂÂnâ roll, soul music, among others before settling into the blues groove.
"I really got off on the Rolling Stones, Man, they were the best for me, really got me excited about doing this type of thing!" " I dug where they were coming from," "ItâÂÂs the Roots, Man, this is AMERICAN music, itâÂÂs about what WE have lived as a national people", and continues, "This music comes from the hearts & souls of the people of this country and is a large part of our countryâÂÂs History!" "To me, thoâÂÂ, the Stones picked- up on it, put their own little touch to it, and sent it back, and here we are now!".....
