Mark's Story
Life
After graduation - I attended Wake Forest U., where I earned my BA in Economics. I married Beverly Isley (East '76) on May 21, 1983. I have worked in manufacturing since that time, and currently work as the Planning Supervisor (what fun!) for PennEngineering in Winston-Salem. Beverly is an ordained Minister (it feels weird being a minister's HUSBAND - which shouldn't be new to me, since I was weird in high school). We have two kids: son Lorian b.1985 a Graduate Student at UNCG, and daughter Brinan b. 1990, and attending GTCC. Both Kids graduated from East, and were Maching Eagles. We currently live Kernersville. It was great seeing everyone at the 20th reunion, and EVERYBODY should try to make it to next one - whenever that is...its lots of fun. Sort of like the time the Chess Club got caught on top of the 600 building on picture day...
College

fly a member of the Marching Deacons (I always hated marching, and that experience just confirmed it), and spent three years in the Concert Choir and Choral Union, but I soon realized there were many students way more talented than I was, so I decided on something practical - Business Administration. Since I lived at home, I pretty much missed out on the real College experience. It was mostly study, study, study, and I still struggled. I wound up changing majors again, and spend the last three years working and going to school part time. So, it took a little longer than expected, and I wound up with about twenty credits more than I needed to graduate. At least my parents were proud when I finally got my B.A. in Economics, until they had to sit through the 3 hour Baccalaureate and another 3 hour Commencement! At any rate, I wouldn't have made it if not for Beverly. It all seems like a very long time ago, and I have many more pleasant memories about High School.
