Mark's Story
Life
Thanks for checking my profile! After relocating a few times, I found myself back in the ETown as the executive director of the
Evanston Chamber of Commerce from 1995 through 2002. It was an exciting time for Evanston, near the end of my chamber tenure, with the 2002 Olympics so close. That is what brought me back to Evanston after pursuing bigger and better dreams in broadcasting.
Since that time, I have begun pursuing another dream, that of owning and operating my own production company, Grouchy Mark Productions, as a sole proprietor. It's so very cool to be able to do what you love to make your way in this world. I perform voice and audio work from a home studio for radio, TV, web sites, audio books, corporate/industrial & video narrations, etc. I also assist others with their projects and dabble in web site design.
I "work" in morning radio 6 days a week and have begun pursuing acting roles and additional on camera work, while receiving training, in the Salt Lake City area, in addition to the voice-acting opportunities.
I continue to co-chair the EHS Alumni Society, which invites anyone who ever attended school in Evanston back to town ...Expand for more
on the weekend nearest the 4th of July. This year's (2007) EHS All-Alumni Reunion Weekend will be held July 6th-8th, with all classes encouraged to stage their individual class reunions during that same time frame. Send an email my direction and I'll be glad to send you a link to the EHS Alumni web site, but if you were to think Evanston & Alumni & organization...gotta get up pretty early to slip one past you, don't I?
Hope to see you back in the ETown soon!
Workplace
I returned to Evanston after a few in Casper to assume the chamber of commerce director position. After 7+ enjoyable years at the c of c, it was time to chase down a dream, career-wise. I have been in the broadcasting industry since 1987. I continue to "work" in radio, with the main source of my livelihood derived from audio projects from my home studio: commercial voice-overs for tv, radio & web sites, audio books, industrial narrations, animation, message-on-hold sevices - virtually anything that can be performed behind a microphone....
I was a big fan of the Marx Brothers while growing up and my Mom suggested Grouchy Mark Productions. Do a search for it sometime. Thanks!
