Mark's Story
Life
After graduating from Walnut Hills, I proceeded to Howard University in Washington, DC. After receiving a Bachelor of Music Education degree, I went back to Ohio to attend Kent State University for graduate studies in Music Performance and Theory/Composition. After receiving a Master of Music (my PhD will soon be completed), I started teaching public school in Northern Ohio. In addition, I worked as a free-lance musician. I've also played for Natalie Cole, Aretha Franklin, The Temptations, The O'Jays, Barry Manilow, Tony Bennett, Jessica Simpson, Ashanti, Patti LaBelle, Vanessa Williams, Brian McKnight, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, JoJo, Joss Stone, and others. After teaching in the public school system for 12 years, I am now the Coordinator of Music Education and Assistant Professor at Howard University. My wife, son, daughter and I live in Maryland. What a trip this has been!!
