Mark's Story
I'm sure very few remember me, especially since I didn't actually graduate with my class. I was in a bad place at that time.... moved around a lot, didn't have many friends, bullied from time to time. Anyone who does remember me is probably for all of the trouble I got into, eventually landing in juvenile detention during my sophomore year. I tried pretty much everything to fit in but just couldn't find a niche, so turned to a life of theft and vandalism. Boy if I could go back knowing what I know now! I think I spent more time with Mr. Booth, Mr. Fields and Officer Conrad than I did with my teachers. I guess ever...Expand for more
ything that happened to us makes us who we are today, right? We moved to CA in 84 and I hated every day of the 32 years I lived there except of course that I gained an incredible wife of 21 years now, 2 beautiful daughters... one in law enforcement and one in the Army, 3 gorgeous granddaughters and a career with the DoD that turned to working for the State Department in the DC area. Sometimes I wish I could have a high school do-over, but who knows how much different my life would be today if I did? I had a lot of pride in OPHS and it stands out as the most memorable time of my entire life up to that point. Peace!
