Mark's Story
Life
OK...Here is the Cliff's Notes version of my life since high school. Graduated from Rutgers University in 1989 & immediately started a career at MetLife. After a few years as an agent I was promoted to sales management. (Read my workplace bio for the rest) In that same year I met the woman that would become my wife (and now ex-wife). We were married in 1997,had our son in 2000, moved from Basking Ridge to New Providence in 2002, and were divorced in November 2005. My 5 year old son is an amazing little boy. He is extremely intelligent (I know everyone says that about their kids...but he could read at 3 years old, knows all the planets, states, state capitals, and is already proficient at basic math and science). He loves sports, especially football, and wants to grow up to be a coach in the NFL. He is constantly watching ESPN and playing Madden 2005 on X-Box.

Workplace
After graduating from Rutgers I started as an agent with MetLife. I was lucky enough to have an excellent mentor who taught me the financial services business and what it takes to succeed. I was promoted into management, but was always happier with the freedom of a sales career. I decided to leave management and become a fee based financial planner. Over the years I have continued my professional education and have attained the CFP designation and a Masters of Science in Financial Services degree.
While I was very successful at MetLife, I found that I was working too many hours and had lost touch with my wife and my son. In 2004 I left MetLife and purchased an Allstate agency in Madison, NJ. As an agency owner, I have the time I need to be a good dad and to have a personal life. I am able to concentrate my efforts on the financial services area of my business and delegate the auto and home insurance to my staff.
