Mark's Story
Life
After Rich East, went to the U of Wisconsin and was soon immersed in the hippy revolution. I ended up being drafted, despite my protests, in '71, where Uncle Sam thought that I'd be a wonderful Military Policeman (from freak to pig in 8 weeks). My first station was at Fort Detrick, MD, which has become renowned for its anti biological warfare work, as well as infectious diseases. I transferred to medical technology to join in the fun and have been at it ever since. rl of our own. Retired from the Army in 91, briefly worked for the Salk Institute, and am now working for Southern Research managing drug discovery (did that in college!) against HIV and vaccine evaluations for government vaccines. The kids have left the nest (kind of - they return periodically) and my wife (Sandy) and I are enjoying the "downhill slide". We just finished building a rancher for our aching bones - can't take the stairs any more! Present interests - Dogs (Collie, Sheltie) and model tall ship building. Addendum: April 2011 - retired and playing golf! Addendum Dec 2011 - widowed.
