Mark's Story
Life
I graduated SRHS in 1988 and worked various jobs for 4 years, realizing that minimum wage sucked. In 92 I started college at PBCC and finished at FAU in 1996. I taught Anatomy and Physiology at PBCC in 97 and 98 and then started med school at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine. I graduated in 2002 have done a traditional internship and then three years of Internal Medicine residency at University of Florida Shands-Jacksonville from 2003-2006. Pulmonary Diseases and Critical Care Medicine at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, from 2006 through 2009 and subsequently returned back to South Florida to start private practice.
From 1999-2003 I played in a local rock band with a fellow med school classmate and we ended up playing several higher-profile shows at Clematis by Night and opened for Uncle Cracker at Sunfest in 2003. For a while I hoped this might be a real career but alas, fate had different plans and I remained in medicine.
