Mark's Story
In a nutshell:
For the past 13 years, I've been a community college instructor in the Twin Cities, teaching journalism and advising the student newspapers, first at Anoka-Ramsey CC and now at Normandale CC in Bloomington. Before that, I worked almost 15 years as a newspaper reporter and editor all over the Midwest, including five years at the Pioneer Press in St. Paul, and spent two years in news at KMSP-TV here in the Twin Cities. I'm lucky to have had two careers I really loved.

we were both reporters in South Dakota when we met) until we divorced a couple of years ago. Our son, Max, is a senior magazine journalism major at Drake University in Des Moines. He'll graduate this spring.
I'm now in a relationship with a wonderful woman who teaches middle school in St. Paul, but I live by myself in an ultra-modern glass-tower condo near the Twin Cities airport.
Still have my saxophones, but I don't play much any more. I keep myself busy reading, hiking, bike touring and learning about all things digital.
