Life After finishing high school, two years at the University of Rochester, and a stint in the Air Force, I took some time off and then graduated from a hospital-based, diploma nursing School in Pennsylvania. Eventually I went back to school for a B.S.N. and after a nearly twenty year career as a practicing R.N. went to law school at the University of San Diego. I spent seventeen summers as a Boy Scout camp nurse, twenty five years as a volunteer scout leader, and I still do volunteer work with the scouts as a merit badge counselor. I spent twenty years doing amateur and semi-professional theater until the pressures of work made that impossible. From law schoo I went to the U.S. Department of Justice in D.C. as a special litigator in the Civil Rights Division and later transferred to what was then called the Land and Natural Resources Division as Special Assistant to the head of the Division. I also worked with the Vice President's Task Force on Regulatory Relief and wrote an executive order for then President Reagan on constitutional issues.
