Mark's Story
Life
After Acalanes, I moved to Rocklin CA to attend Sierra College, where I completed my major in Cabinet Technology(Basically I can manufacture kitchen/bath cabinets).
With a minor in Residential Construction. I spent the next 10 or so years working in a small copy center(similiar to Kinko's). I had always thought about driving a truck, so I quit my job and took a driving class to get my Class A license and spent the next 6.5 years driving for Dick Simon(the black trucks with the skunk). We hauled just about every type of consumable all over the 48 states and canada. I got very tired of spending little time at home with family and friends, so I quit there to work with my sister's ex husband(Joe Bromstad)for a small construction company in Sacramento.
After a short period I was let go due to a slowing of business. I then took a job driving locally for a building material company. After 3.5 yrs, I was let...Expand for more
go(as well as 40 others) due to the slump in the housing market. Both my parents are re-married, mom is in Orinda and my dad is up in Grass Valley. My sister and her son, live in Walnut Creek. My Aunt and Uncle have relocated from Walnut Creek to Rocklin.
School
All my years in school I had to follow in my sister's footsteps. She was a Senior during my Freshman year. It was great knowing she was there to help me get through, however I always got the same lip from all my teachers, "Why aren't you trying harder, your sister got A's in my class". Lets just say I didn't hold my head very high in most classes. My other regret is not getting to know more of my classmates and holding on to these friendships that I did make. I think it would be great to meet up on other occasions other than reunions. As we know some will show up trying to show off what they have accomplished. I say lets just have a great time!
