Mark's Story

Life I'm currently living in Omaha, NE near my two kids. Now that I am out of the Air Force, I am very hopeful that I will be able to make the next reunion. I'm still doing the band geek thing after all these years -- playing guitar and bass and singing with a Christian worship band. Shalom to all my old friends! College I did the Master's via extension course videotape. It was a rough way to do it, but I got the degree I wanted. It works if you can't get 12-24 months off work to get your degree. There were a couple of times I had to take a quarter off, like for the "Great Election War of 1996". (See my military section for that one.) US Strategic Command here in Omaha, NE. This is my first job since separating from the military. I enjoy getting into the math, modeling and simulation aspects of my new job. It's pretty interesting to a techie (nerd) like me, and I get to travel a bit, too. Monterey in June, anyone? Military I guess a word of explanation is in order. Some of the best and worst times of my life were spent in the military. If you are thinking of making the military a career, think carefully and long about what you are volunteering for. Some people just don't fit in the military. Remember what the purpose of the military is. If your desire to serve your country outweighs the danger, family separations and other hardships, then you should by all means sign up.
