I've always disliked the concept of someone I'd consider an equal being in a possition of authority over me. Why the fudge should I do push-ups & crap like that, just to appease some loud guy who wakes me up WAY too early for my liking. I don't seem to have this issue with a boss in the work-place, probably ...Expand for more
because a boss will usually only ask me to do something that's somehow productive to the common goal of making more money, as opposed to someone who could at anytime tell me to run out into cross-fire & risk my life to defend/protect/whatever despite any personal feelings / viewpoints i may have on the issue. I mean, I may or may not agree with whatever reasons they'd have for sending me into the line of duty, but any personal feelings on the matter would fall upon deaf ears & I might end up fighting for a cause I don't believe in... I don't think I'd fight nearly as hard for something I don't agree with, & possibly contributing to the chances of losing my own life. Don't get me wrong, I have a lot of respect for those brave individuals out there who choose to join an American armed force, I just know that I wouldn't do too well there myself. Being a rather lazy person might not help me through boot camp, either.
