Mark's Story
Life
Since high school I've been here and there - I graduated from Michigan in 1983 and from the University of Missouri in 1986 with a Masters in Chemical Engineering. My real interest was biotechnology- so I went to work in Indianapolis with Eli Lilly and Company in the Bioengineering group. I married Alice Martina and she and I have lived in Indy ever since (except for an 18 month stint in Paris with Lilly from 90-92)
Along the way I picked up an interest in restoring old Jaguars (I'm on my second) and Alice an I restored our home in the Broadripple area of Indianapolis before selling and moving to the Northeast side near Fort Benjamin Harrison. Alice enjoys working on her "fabric arts" - otherwise known as quilting, and I sing and play bass and rhythm guitar in a local rock band on weekends.
We also have two daughters, Xona and Alyse, who are now 17 and 16 (and driving us nuts!). but life is not boring. We enjoy traveling, snow skiing, sports car events, and singing with the St. Simon Catholic Church Choir. We're looking forward to seeing al...Expand for more

School
I remember RCHS as a great place to be and be in school - I guess I was never really associated with any particular group - Jocks, "burn-outs", perhaps I was thought of as a "brain" because I enjoyed school. But I also liked being able to move from group to group without any real strong ties.
I remember being on the Football and Swimming teams in my senior year. We had a good season that year, even if I didn't play much but on special teams for football. I remember a big hit that I had during the Wayne game on a kickoff team where I literally saw stars! But I won the "hit-of-the-game" award from coach - what a thrill! And swimming was where I really met many of my life-long friends and had my most memorable experiences.
But what I remember most about RCHS was early fall nights when school was just back in session, crusing with friends like Kent Peters and Danny Petro - just looking for something to find and with all the new possibilities in the air. It was a really special time!
