Mark's Story

Life I finished high school and joined the service just as so many did at the time. I served proudly in the 82nd Airborne Infantry at Ft. Bragg for a few years, then South Korea for a year. All in all, it was a wonderful experience. Then I studied Mathematics and Economics at U of Houston while working 3 jobs to pay for it all, and moved to Dallas in 1995 to be nearer to my sister (Wendi Frankenberger/Taylor) and her growing family. My niece and nephew are two of my favorite people in the whole world. I began my professional career in computer programming in 95, and currently own my own web development company and live in New York City. If you're ever in the area, give me a shout! hen teachers before her claimed I was incapable. Everything I studied from then on had some basis in Mathematics. She changed my life, and I appreciate that. College The University of Houston was a commuter college - the average age was something like 28 (ancient in college terms). Most everyone already had an adult life and was going to school to get an education. That's what I was doing. I had gotten out of the Army in 87, took a couple years to decide what I was going to do, then college life began. I was a little older, much wiser, and quite determined to do it right. It was a breeze. Military I think everyone should do at least a couple years in the military. It's a great way to see some of the world and experience something you'll never get the opportunity to again once you get older. I loved it.
