Mark's Story
Life
High, I'm Mark and this is my story. I still live in Beautiful Upstate NY in the same house I bought 12 years ago in Stuyvesant...30 minutes from my commute to "The Big City" of Albany and 15 minutes from 'ole cattle town where I grew up.? I've been at the same job for almost 12 years and I believe it is safe to say that this is the first job I've held for more than a month. I've been married to my best friend and the girl from around the block going on 10 yrs...My 10 year conclusion: "Marriage is the Triumph of Imagination over Intelligence"...We have two dogs(black labs...the more people I meet the more I like my dogs!),no little ones, and no plans. We are definately home bodies, who look foward to the warm weather for long motorcycle rides through the backroads, especially during the fall months. I spend most of my time recording in my 24 track studio working on original music with my band Broken To Pieces. Music continues to be a passion that plays into my life in many ways. I was formatted at Twelve and maintain a lifestyle that is firmly rooted in the "Spirit of Rock-n-Roll" and yes I want to see, and hear, more than anyone on this planet, a new album and reunion tour with the classic VAN HALEN lineup...Wolfie held it Together...The Brothers as always, Amazing...And Diamond Dave Proved once again that he is the Greatest Entertainer that has Ever Lived. Continental Arena Sat Nov 3rd 2007...Yeah Baby!
I can hear the Chittenden Falls from my house and often spend time at the Stuyvesant Falls, also close to my house. I love chillin' by water. Perhaps some of you recall "The Dam" gatherings in Castleton, up the road from my parents house, where some of my best memories from the "High School"...Expand for more
years were formed. Recently, I was sitting by a small fire in my back yard, listening to the falls rush, having a cold one, thinking back, and I remebered something I heard. That life is really about hanging on and letting go. At the end of the night I wrote some lyrics down that are part of a song I'm working on. "You know when the fire burns out, there are still a few embers, so I dump my beer and watch the smoke clear, I burn the past and it's gone." For those of you that remeber "The Dam" or were there, but it's a bit foggy...This is something I wrote in 1988, while visiting the beautiful state of Tennessee, after getting the news that there was a salute to the "Toast Master General" and that these gatherings were indeed in full swing. Gotta love it!
Rushing Water, Fresh Night Air, Full Moon Rising, Distant Glare
Fires Burning, Faces Glow, Constant Laughter, Energy Flow
Darkness Settles, Shadows Fade, There She is.....
My Ace of Spades....Kind Smile I bring Her Face....
She's so Perfect, Lost in Space
Got My Feet Back on the Ground
I Noticed that She had Turned Around
Her Eyes Glimmered like City Lights
The Way She Moved was Such a Sight
The Partied Died, Few of Them Slept
The Wine was Good, But She Had Left
When I Woke in Morning Light
I Remebered Her, That Precious Sight
I Walked Along a Shady Hill
The Morning Breeze was Warm and Still
My Hair Blown Back, Sneakers Untied
I'd see Her Again, I Felt it Inside
To all that have taken the time to read this...you must be out of your mind! To my Family and Friends, who, like myself, don't know how they got here, and have taken the time to read this; you are truly incredible. You provide the laughter and strength that keeps me going. Bottoms Up!
