Mark's Story
Well, I am self-employed in the field of intellectual property as patent searcher and enjoy what I do for a living. I used to work for the patent office as a patent examiner, but now use the skills I learned as a public searcher.
I worked for Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock Company from 1988-1992 (before it was bought by General Dynamics) when I first got out of college. Well after the Berlin Wall came down in 1989, three years later a restructuring caused me to be layed off. I do not recommend it. Got a job with the PTO after that and worked there...Expand for more
for almost three years since then (mid 1996) have been self employed as patent searcher. Which means I write reports for lawyers to tell them what I found for something someone is trying to invent.
I went to WVU an received a BS in Electrical Engineering and graduated in 1988. I have two cats, selling my house (timing has not been one of my stronger suits in real estate), and am really into ballroom dancing. I currently live in Alexandia, Virginia and own a house in Woodbridge, Virginia.
