Marla's Story

Life Hey you! Welcome to my bio! After graduating from Mills, I attended the illustrious Univ. of Arkansas at Little Rock. Actually, I was very pleased with the quality of education I received there. After UALR, I taught 9th, 11th, and 12th grade English at J.A. Fair High school from Dec. 1987 through summer school of 1988. When I realized that teaching was for better souls than mine, I decided to go to Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (SWBTS) in Fort Worth, TX to become the closest thing Baptists have to a nun, a single foreign missionary. Half way through my diligent work on my Masters of Divinity, I met David Rogers, and the plans to be a single missionary changed immediately! David and I married on Nov. 8, 1991 in Little Rock. ntrigue of big fish in a little pond. Seven years ago, we moved to Biscoe, AR. Most people know how to find us because we are on the way to Tunica! Biscoe is a small farming community, but a great many in the community go to our church. The first four years of our time here, I commuted into LR to work at FamilyLife Ministries. Some of you might recognize this ministry for their Christian radio ministry "FamilyLife Today" with Dennis Rainey and Bob Lepine. I worked as a correspendence writer and correspondence team leader while I worked there. However, I had to resign because of health reasons three years ago and have been working on finding a solution for persistent migraines since then. See my Bulletin Board for updates on my health situation. I appreciate any prayers I can get for this! David and I have one little angel in heaven. I miscarried Sept. 10, 2001 and was in the hospital Sept. 11 when America came under attack. We hope to adopt in the near future, but for now, we enjoy our church and our two 20 lb. cats, Barclay and Cosmo. Don't be a stranger! Let me hear from you!
