Marlene's Story
Life
I lived in AL for 30-ish years and moved to FL in 2001. Bought a home (2 miles from the beach) and am STILL not all unpacked!! Cleaning up from Charlie & Frances - forever it seems. Still carry a book around with me, love to garden and paint...now if I could just win the lottery!! Daughters are in early 40's; grandchildren 21 and 23! Where DID all those years go....?
School
Biggest crush - all of them! Inspiration - Clarkson and Knappen at WHS, Mrs. Collins at RJHS, Mrs. Sauder at Grant School. Would do it all over again in a heartbeat!! As I look back, nearly every moment was the funniest, craziest, happies...Expand for more
t of times. My only problem was the studying - hated it all!!!
College
I attended College of the Virgin Islands (St. Croix), but when we moved to Alabama, I lost all interest in further schooling - never in the learning tho!
Workplace
I worked in accounting/auditing for many years, managed 2 real estate offices, got into advertising and photography, and somehow ended up in sales for 11 yrs.! I loved it - especialy my customers - they were from all over the world and it was really fantastic! I finally got to put those 4+ yrs. of French to use - I had a customer in Arabia who didn't speak English but could understand my French!
