Marlys Grodt:  

Life Marlys Nelson Grodt-In 1955 I married Dick Grodt, also a SGHS Class of Summer '54 graduate. On January 15, 2009, we celebrated our 54th wedding anniversary. Our daughter was born in 1960 and our son in 1962. Both are married, and live in Orange County. They each have two children. Karen/Steve have two daughters, 22 and 21. Their Stephanie graduated from Chapman University in OC May 2009. Their Jenny is a college senior. Steve/Bev have a son who's 14 a daughter who's 12. We love being grandparents! Dick retired in 1990 after a 30 year career in law enforcement at an Orange County police department. I retired in 2003 as a self-employed classification and compensation consultant for public agencies, but still take a project now and then to stay mentally alert and earn additional money for travel or to spoil grandchildren. I'm into travel planning and geneology on ancestry.com.Not only is it a great hobby but it also keeps me in regular touch with family. Dick plays golf when his back lets him play. We live in the San Bernardino mountains where we have enjoyed cruising, dining and playing cards with a close circle of friends who all live within 10 minutes of us.
