Marshia's Story
Life had been good. I have lived in Texas, Mississippi, Georgia and Ohio. I just returned to Toledo in January 2013. I have one wonderful Gay son that has made me so proud. He's pursuing his Masters in Criminal Psychology. He lives in Atlanta and is in a great relationship..
I'm blessed to be the owner of my own research company. My health is not what I would have thought it to be but I'm here and God blesses me everyday. I'm 61. I don't expect to feel like I did when I was 41.
Atlanta, Georgia is the best place I have ever lived and I think I feel that way because it was there that I started my business and lived really good. That time in my life is so important to me because I was a divorcee and made it on my own. 100%

we divorced I never thought that I would be able to live like that again. Atlanta proved me wrong. When I started my business at the age of 56, I was determined that I was going to make it and I have by the Grace of God and a lot of long hours. It paid off.
Now I'm able to live comfortably most anywhere. I moved back to Toledo and I'm living with my 81 year old Uncle. He has always been like a father to me and he's my mom's baby brother and the last of 21 children. I love it here with him. I know that one day I will move on but for now this is home and I love it.
It's good to be back in Toledo but it saddens my heart to see so much deterioration and devastation. To many boarded up homes and the street looks like Swiss cheese.
It's still home and I'm glad to be back. Maybe I'll buy myself a condominium. Whatever I do it will be in Toledo.
