Marta's Story
Life
I left Wyckoff, NJ in my Freshman year at Ramapo HS and moved to Dobbs Ferry, NY. I finished up my HS and College years in Arizona at Camelback HS and Arizona State Universtiy.
After college I went to work as a Pulmonary Technician for several years both in Phoenix at Maricopa County Hosptial and at Scott & White Hospital in Temple Texas. I traveled around a great deal in my twenties living in South Carolina, where I worked as a copywriter at a radio station and Texas where I continued my work as a pulmonary technician. Finally I settled down, got married and had a baby at 30.
I lived in Wichita, KS for eight years and returned to Arizona when I divorced in 1986. Except for a three year stint in San Diego where I ran a PPO network, I have continued to live in Arizona, moving to Tucson in 2003.
My daughter Chrissy graduated from University of Arizona with a degree in psychology and worked for three years before deciding to go back to graduate school to become a Physician Assistant. f my beautiful granddaughter, Penelope.
Iam currently working as a supervisor for a large AHCCCS Health Plan in Tucson. I still don't have to wear panty hose unless I choose to. Work, with time has improved drastically. I love my boss and my staff. I travel between Tucson and Phoenix weekly and except for the trek up and down I-10, really enjoy it. and I no longer do the I-10 Shuffel as I always called it.
Southeast Arizona is lovely and it would be hard for me to live anywhere else. I love the desert; the sky is almost always blue and there is no snow. I love traveling around Arizona on the back roads, finding great places to hike and take pictures, discovering great old hotels and taking in the magnificent sunsets.
My life has not always been perfect; I've been divorced for at least four years now and I'm very happy. I purchased a condo and recently adopted a dog , so I have lots to keep me busy. Home Depot has become my favorite place to shop! I'm pretty excited about that. I am blessed to have a wonderful daughter, a supportive and crazy family and great and fairly crazy friends. Life is good.
