Given my teaching background, my large community church has afforded me the opportunity to facilitate workshops for the members and serve as a Women's Ministry Leader for the past 2 years. I find great camaraderie, support and laughter among my female friends. In my post career life, I remain the "Fairy Job Mother" and enjoy lending my experience and communication skills to assist job seekers and career changers to find their way through the trauma of job loss. I am pleased to have coached 2 of our sons through both oral and written exams resulting in promotions for both to the rank of Sgt. in their respective Police Departments. Women's advocacy remains a priority. The highlight of this coming year will be the celebration of my 65th and my husband's 70th birthdays as well as our 25th wedding anniversary. All 5 children plus spouses and 9 grandchildren have been invited to join us on an Alaskan cruise some time next year to celebrate. As I look to our children's future in a global, multicultural economy, I see the need for them to take ownership of their destinies by assuring their employability through education, technology, wise investing and entrepreneurship. And I pray that they will seek and find a relationship with our God that will sustain them through the difficulties of a society in moral decline. They will have challenges that will surpass anything that we have ever known! I am committed to being a positive role model and woman of influence in their lives and in the lives of women in our community.
