martha's Story
I live a low key life in a 165 year old huge farm house on 500 acres. My sister Jessie & her husband own the land & house and live up the hill from me 1/2 mile. My driveway is 1/2 mile long. It's in the blue ridge mountains, completely private and very quiet & beautiful. I am unmarried (twice divorced), no children. I have 2 cats & 5 small dogs. I heat my huge house with one wood stove, so the upstairs gets pretty chilly in winter. The house is quite beautiful, wide plank wood floors, wood walls, wood ceilings, hand-planed wood doors throughout. The place is gigantic. For years I was an editor, but am retired now.
I changed my name to Cristalle in 1984, so everyone now knows me by that name. My sister Mary lives in Pennsylvania. Her only son passed away last July, while vacationing here to see Jessie & I. He had a massive heart attack. It was horrible, shook up the whole family. He had a wife & daughter that loved him dearly, they're taking it pretty hard, as well as Mary.
Living out here in the country I've learned how to can food. It's quite easy, but very time consuming. Doing OK all in all. Will post updates sometime. would love to hear from old classmates
