Martha's Story
Life
I was single until about age 32. I married a wonderful man 4 years older than me. We had a lot in common. Our son was born when I was 35, the apple of our eye. We had many fun years together. Michael died on 11/11/03 of a sudden heart attack. My son and I were crushed. Jake, my son, is 15 and very stoic and brave. We sold the house and now live in an apartment. It's now 1 1/2 years later, and we're doing OK. I'm having a relationship with my husband's 1st cousin, who actually did the eulogy at his funeral, and they actually grew up next door to one another, almost like brothers. This cousin has never been married, and has never been in a long-term relationship. It can be a struggle at times, but we take it a day at a time.

ER tech, and medical assistant as well. I enjoy caring for people, and the medical field has offered
me the opportunity to do that.
I like to ride my bike, walk, swim and hike. I love the ocean. I just recently started fishing, both fresh water and ocean. I caught
a 20-pound striped bass recently up at Crane's Beach in Ipswich two weeks ago, standing right on the shore! What a kick!
My son brings me great joy. He has his father's wonderful wit. He is also very caring and loving, and great company. Right now we're watching seasons 1, 2 and 3 of "24" together. He will be a sophmore at Hopkinton High in September.
We will be celebrating our mother's 80th birthday in August. I have 2 older brothers and one sister that graduated from North High as well.
