Martha and's Story
Life
I graduated in education from Indiana University of Pa., got married to M. Dale Shields, and taught first graders in Plattsburgh, New York. In 1971 we moved to Bangkok, Thailand, where our first daughter was born. While there I taught the GED program and we also traveled extensively. We moved to Beavercreek, Ohio, (near Dayton) two-and-a-half years later; our second daughter was born. I completed my master's degree and an additional 125 semester hours while Dale finished up two masters' degrees and a doctorate. eighth graders. Dale and I love the arts; I was an advisor to about 135 junior high students in an arts-appreciation club who went with me to performances of plays, musicals, concerts, ballets, operas, etc. Our daughters are our treasures; the older one (Darci)went to Purdue University and is in industrial engineering management - in charge of assembly of the Chevy Traverse in TN; the younger one (Mindy) ran the office for my husband's consulting business and is now looking for a full-time job. Mindy is the mother of my granddaughter, Alexandra (Dec.1994) and my grandson, Kory (Jan.2001). Please contact me to let me know about your years since we left school!
