Marti's Story
Life
I had a wonderful time at the reunion on October 20th. One of the highlights was seeing old friends and finding out that David Cade lives here in St. Louis too. We've been in touch and hope to see each other soon. (Some of you may remember his brother Steve and I dated while at Osborne.)
So, yes I am still in St. Louis. It is now going on 23 years. I have three children now. Marissa (21), Hilary (16) and Hannah Grace (7). I completed my undergrad in Media Communications in 2005. I am happily unmarried at the present. I spend a lot of time volunteering and teach religious school to 5th, 6th and 7th graders. My oldest daughter is a junior in college majoring in Marketing. her at Temple. Hannah (Wow - having a baby at 40 was an eye opening experience!) is in first grade and is the apple of all of our eyes.
My parents are still retired in Knoxville, TN. Mom is now in a nursing home due to the ravages of Alzheimer's. I am participating in a research project of Washington University here in St. Louis now for adult children of Alzheimer's victims. My maternal grandmother died from the disease as well. If I can help one person by doing this study, it will be well worth it.
I am on the Board of Directors for the St. Louis Society, serving children and adults with physical disabilities. This is my 23rd year with them as well. Some things never change, I guess.
