Martha's Story
Life
I have been married since 1990, have 3 daughters ages14, 9, and 7. I homeschool my kids in the day and then work part time (and at home part time) as a building designer. It's my dream job! I never thought it would come true! See workplace profile for more info. I also teach classes in architecture to local homeschool and public school kids at an educational enrichment center. Next fall I'll also teach Algebra 2! (thanks, Mr. Pacheco!)
We have lived in North Carolina, the Seattle area, Kentucky, and several locations in Washington, but we are settled here in Yakima WA now and plan to stick around. We really miss family in Warsaw, and really miss the lakes, also. Here there are not lakes for swimming- just very COLD rivers and some even colder mountain lakes, ...Expand for more
made from melted SNOW. We also miss Penquin Point!
We have a 10-acre family farm with a horse, some beef cows and beefalo, show rabbits, 5 cats, and a dog. We are looking to expand to a larger farm when our house sells. It's 80 acres of livestock heaven!
The girls are all showing animals in 4H- we are so involved with it we started our own club, which has been very rewarding! Each daughter has her own passions-- The oldest, Suzanne, loves horses. Monica is mechanically minded and mathematically gifted, and loves cats, and Danielle is an excellent dog trainer, but then she is also excellent at everything she tries.
We are involved in several homeschool groups, our church, have a great circle of friends, and do some activities with the horseman's club, as well.
