Marty's Story
Life
I never actually attended Maple Hts High, because we moved to Summit County in 1969, but I'd love to hear from anyone who remembers me from Rockside Elementary, and life in the sixties living in Maple Heights on Tokay Ave.
For those lucky enough to remember Miss Gallagher at Rockside (3rd grade), I traced her down and contacted her. We had a very enjoyable and memorable lunch one afternoon in 2000. She'd hardly changed. I was amazed at the detail with which she remembered my class (class of '75)! I ...Expand for more
tried to stump her, but she was way on top of things. She even remembered everyone who sat next to me, and with whom I hung around. She came with a photo of our class and samples of schoolwork of mine that she'd kept. She was and is a true gem. Teacher of the Year, as far as I'm concerned. I was able to tell her exactly how she influenced my life, something I'd always wanted to tell her. I recommend anyone out there who feels the same, contact that special teacher from your past while they're still around!
