Marvin (Chuck)'s Story
Life
After HS I went in the USCG with my buddies Charlie Farrar and Mickey Upchurch for four long gruling years. I got married in 1966 and came back to LaGrange in 1968. The city seemed to need another cop so I did a year with them at $360 a month. Worked at Callaway Gardens until returning to NC in 1971. Went to work for DuPont in various positions Operations, Audio-visual and Publications (loved writing and still do, have a book in the works)and finally Purchasing and Inventory ...Expand for more
Control Manager. Now 30 years later I'm retired, at least for now. I do a little acting mostly on "Dawson's Creek" as an extra. My wife and I have three children, two boys 27 & 38 and a daughter 43 and 4 granddaughters. My wife and I are approaching 44yrs. together in August 2010.. How did that happen? Still waiting for the right girl to come along. I'm now known as Chuck Baker and Marvin is rarely used except by old friends. So any old friends that might read this drop me a line!
