Mary (Betty)'s Story
Life
Currently I am attending Capella University working on a PhD degree in Instructional Design for Online Learning. My husband and I have spent over two years researching and exploring the virtual world Second Life (SL) and its educational programs. We will be transferring my private school to online in SL Reaction Grid, K-20 educational virtual world. The pilot program will start in the fall of 2011 as a part of my dissertation.
My life has been very busy and I have lived in many location around central and eastern Michigan and I am now located in Northeast Michigan in the small town of Hale. I live on Londo Lake with my husband Korey who is a mechanic and manager of his fatherâÂÂs automotive shop. I have 4 children. Todd graduated from the University of Michigan and is now in top management in security for Walgreen Drug Stores. He lives in Ohio with his two children Kyle & Kara. Chad is an over the road truck driver and lives in Owosso, Michigan with his wife Stephanie and stepchildren Luke and DJ. Brad lives in Prescott, Mi. and has three sons, James, Chance, Ethan, and one on the way in Fed. 2011. My youngest, Michelle, works for a DoctorâÂÂs office. She lives in Hale with her daughters Emily, Olivia, husband Aaron, and stepdaughter Abby.

School in 1987 for ADD, ADHD, and Dyslexic individuals. I am a dyslexic and so are two on my children. I am still a teacher and Principal of Pinecrest which now operates as a independent educational school and learning center as part of our youth program at HERO,org, a non-profit organization I own.
Some on my other accomplishment are: I received my B.S. Degree ÃÂwith Honorsàin Education in Human Ecology & Psychology, from Michigan State University in 1976 and a Master Degree in Educational Leadership (Administration) from Easter Michigan University in1995. I taught Home Economics, Gifted Education, Arts and Crafts for Adult Education. I worked as a Home Economist in St. Johns Mi. I was President of Jaycee Auxiliary & Regional Director of Personal Dynamics, Owned and operated a wholesale and retail Florist Business, I hold a Michigan Real Estate License and taught beginning Real Estate courses. I am an active board member of Develop Iosco, HERO, org and Eagle Heads, LLC. I have been on the board of many business associations over the years. I was inducted into the Phi Delta Kappa educational ÃÂHonor FraternityÃÂ. In 2005, I was honored with a Business Women of the Year award. This year I am being highlighted with a half page biography in Biltmore WhoâÂÂs Who.
