Mary's Story
Life
Since graduating from OCHS in 1961 I have attended Wartburg College and I graduated from Upper Iowa University in 1961. I was an elementary teacher for many years in the Vinton and Maquoketa Valley School Districts. I was the owner of a Christian preschool for 12 years and I now am a teacher of adults with disabilities in Manchester. I love my work. I have two grown sons, Nathan and Christopher. and, Bob Adams was a high school English teacher, well-loved by students, who unfortunately passed away in 1993 at the age of 50. I love the quiet things of life, reading, needlework, gardening, and going out to eat with my friends. Currently my son Chris is home from the navy and is getting his feet on the ground after enlisting for six years. He spent time in the Middle East and I am so glad he is home safely.
