Mary Ann's Story

Went to St. Joseph from kindergarten through 8th grade, then to Dominican, graduating in '63. Took a break to get married, but finished my BA in chemistry from Georgia College in '73. Went to graduate school at Purdue University, finished with a PhD in '79. Met and married my current husband in '78 while I was in grad school. Moved to Nashville where I did two post-docs at Vanderbilt. Ken is a musician, so we stayed in Nashville for a while, then my job took us to France (LOVED IT), then Minnesota (unfit for human habitation!!), then California and now Arizona. S...Expand for more
urprisingly, we really like it here. I'm a Master Gardener; I'll spend 10 hours working in the garden over one working in the house any day. We have three dogs, an afghan hound and two chihuahuas. They feature prominently in my photo albums. All our kids have had four legs-don't have to pay for college :) Life's been fun - varied and interesting. I've traveled extensively for work and play, and as a result I have friends around the globe. I never expected to live in France or travel to South Africa, but I got to do both, plus a lot of other great things, too.
