Workplace I have just retired from teaching and coaching after 43 years. I have coached for over 30 years. I finished my career with Hoover City Schools Birmingham, Alabama at Berry/Hoover High School. I coached cross country, track (boys and girls), gymnastics, and swimming. Our teams won 28 state championships during the last 17 years. The boys team just finished winning their 4th cross country championship in a row scoring an almost perfect score of 17 points. Last year I was inducted into the Alabama High School Sports Hall of Fame. All of these things could not have happened without a great groups of athletes and parents. Retirement should be fun, but I will miss the kids. Five Years Later This fall, I had a great thrill, I was inducted into the Oak Ridge Tennessee Sports Hall Of Fame Now I am still working in track and Field. I help coach track at the school Where I retired for both indoor and outdoor track. I am also working for the Alabama High School Athletic Association certifying High School Track and Field Offiicials. I am Youth Athletics Chairman for Alabama USATF(Track and FIeld) In the summer I run a summer program for youth track and field. We have a youth club with about 70 athletes and we compete in 4 or 5 meets in the summer.
