Mary's Story

Life I was born and raised in Nashville. I am an only child. My parents divorced as soon as I finished college. I remember high school as a stressful time because my parents were not getting along. College was better. After college I went to work for the State of TN Human Services Department and audited agencies that had received state grants to provide services such as after school daycare. This involved alot of travel so after a few years I transfered to the Transportation Dept and billed the Federal Govt for highway work. I moved to California (Bay Area) in 1983. I worked at a senior housing facility as the Accounting Manager for seven years and that is where I met my husband. He was the Food Service Manager. The big quake of 1989 was the catylst for us getting together. It struck just after 5:00pm and he came running...Expand for more
to my office to check on me. I didn't really know that he was interested before that. We have a house in Palo Alto not far from Stanford University. California is so different from Tennessee. I try to get home to Tennessee as often as possible. My mother passed away in 1998. I have several life long friends in the neighborhood that I keep in touch with. I would like to know how my classmates have fared and if there have been any reunions. College I went to George Peabody College. It merged with Vanderbilt the year after I graduated. Peabody had the most beautiful campus and the teachers were very dedicated. I pledged Delta Phi Sigma and they were the best group of girls. I have lost touch with everyone so please send an email if you remember me. I went back to the campus a few years ago and lots has changed.
