Mary's Story
Life
I currently work as a Special Needs Adoption Counselor (social worker) at AGAPE in Nashville, TN. I have been with this agency since January of 1998.
Prior to coming to work at AGAPE, I was in school at Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN. I didn't go to college till I was 25. I was a "non-traditional student" as a first time freshman at 25. During school, I worked as a nanny for a family with two children and both parents working in the music business in Nashville.
I am single and have not been married -- but, I don't let that hold me back from going after what I want......including having a family...I have been a foster parent for the State of Tennessee, Department of Children's Services for about four years and have had 19 children in my ...Expand for more
home for various lengths of time. I am the single mother to a beautiful daughter who was adopted from the foster care system after having been in my home for 2 years and 9 months. The "now" picture on my profile is her and I on Mother's Day, 2007.
We love to travel around the Nashville area and see the sights and check out new places. That is one of the great things about living in Nashville -- there are so many places to see and things to do either in the city or within driving distince. Come visit and check it out for yourself!
In my spare time (what little of it there is!), I enjoy traveling and photography. Scrapbooking her life is a favorite past-time of mine, too. I have tried to document every special moment since she was placed in my home.
