Mary's Story
Life
Married in May 1996, Divorced in March 2002, remarried in August 2007, separated August 2010.
School
I attended LHS freshman thru junior years. I moved to Springfield for my senior year which truly sucked!
College
I attended SMSU for 2 yrs. I told myself I would love to go back. I fought w/ myself for a year before I finally made the decision to go back. I started back to school in Feb 2004, graduated w/ my AA in Feb 2006 and graduated in May 2008 w/ my BA double majored in Criminal Justice & Psychology.
Workplace
Since high school, I've worked as a secretary/admin asst for several places. I was a church secretary for 3 1/2 yrs in Kansas City, worked in the Manpower offices interviewing and hiring employees, did a part time stint at the local university and after being laid off there, stayed home w/ the kids for a year. It was then I decided to head back to school.

arting in Sept 2008. That has changed a bit as he has sent the majority of his clients back to prison for non compliance of their treatment program.
In Sept 2008, I accepted a position as a Youth Counselor at a residential facility for boys ages 10 - 18 who have mental, behavioral and criminal issues. Promoted to an Individual Skills Counselor in Feb 2010.
August 2010 has found me moving back to Springfield, MO. In Oct, I accepted a Behavioral Health Tech position at Lakeland Regional Hospital ~ a psych hospital/residential treatment for children 4 - 17 with behavioral, criminal and mental health issues. Dec 2011, I began working with persons who have autism spectrum disorders! Yay! My passion!
Volunteer
Having a child with mental & behavioral issues, I've joined NAMI and helping to organize a local chapter. I was voted chairman of the Parents and Children program. I'm also a trained Visions for Tomorrow teacher through NAMI (National Alliance on Mental Illness).
