Mary's Story
After surviving a trauma, I moved to Florida. Now, believe it or not (not -- if you knew me in school--sigh and apologies) I am a TEACHER!!
I teach Adult immigrants to speak English. This is the most rewarding job of my life. I work with students from every continent except Australia.
My students are from Asia, Eastern Europe, Africa, and South/Central America. They speak many languages when they come to me (I teach 3 levels of Beginners) and when they leave me (promoted to Intermediate Level), they can communicate in basic English too!
Every day, I can see and feel that I have impact on people and their lives. Teaching ESOL is this Woman's Found Meaning!
I was a soloist (coloratura soprano)in many places--Philadelphia, Boston, Martha's Vineyard, New Jersey, Florida. I was frequent lead in musical comedies. I sang in many choirs and opera groups (for instance, Savoy). I still sing, but in choral groups only.
Write at mgregor2 at tampabay dot rr dot com. I noticed that only part of my "story" is online, so I moved the most recent first,

good physical shape.
According to this site, people have tried to contact me, but they won't say who until I join. Not. But if it is you who wants to contact me, please address in message.
I never remarried (some of you came to my wedding), but had lots of interesting long-term relationships with fantastic people. The love of my life (no longer IN my life) is a Central boy!
In brief, I worked for Arlen Specter for many years. I worked for him directly, and honed my media relations and PR skills as his direct employe in the District Attorney's Office and during his first and many other political campaigns.. I worked for him in the US Senate too, helping in the early, settling-in years. I also worked in various capacities for Thacher Longstreth--as legislative assistant and press secretary.
Wrote for Philly Mag, and eventually was a medical writer/pharmaceutical marketer. Then had my own PR Agency that handled associations and organizations, businesses (e.g., Au Bon Pain, parent of Panera Bread), and pharmaceutical companies.
I did many things, and have spent my life learning and growing. Now, I truly love my teaching and my students.
