Mary's Story
Life
I got married to a wonderful man named Keith in September 2004 and "inherited" an amazing step-daughter in the process. She just turned 21 and it's been neat to see her grow up - especially now that she's really becoming her own adult person and is getting married in 2013! Ack!
I worked in the medical field (leading the billing dept for a dialysis center and nephrology practice with multiple locations in SE WI) where for many years before quitting to run the business that Keith and I started, called It's Your Turn! Games & Toys (IYTgames dot com). I'm not exactly using my graphic design degree but that's OK with me! It's great being able to be my own boss and we have big plans for the business someda...Expand for more
y. Right now we're online only but we hope to eventually open up a bricks and mortar store - and then multiple locations - someday soon!
And in my spare time, I've started my own hand-crafted beaded jewelry business called The Enchanted Iris. I fell into jewelry design after spending hundreds of dollars on my wedding jewelry and thinking "I could do that!" I am about 99% self taught and am loving it. My hope is that the business will be successful enough to give me a reason to keep me designing new pieces because I certainly can't wear all that I create! And, it provides me with a good creative outlet which I love.
I'm babbling and this is probably more than you wanted to know but in general, life is good!
