Mary's Story
Where do I start? After MSU I got married and moved to California and have been here ever since. Right now I am working towards becoming a pilates instructor. I still enjoy sewing and for the past 4 years I've been making belly dancing costumes.
I enjoy traveling and usually go to Mexico several times a year. This year I went to Abu Dhabi, way too hot. Last year I went to Thailand and the previous year it was Barcelona. I love learning about other cultures. (I have a minor in social studies.)
Before my sons were born I got into backpacking, hiking, camping, and snow skiing. I learned I was pregnant with Chris while we were taking a Basic Mountaineering Course through the Sierra Club.(Maybe that's why Chris loves rock climbing.)
While my sons were growing-up most of my free time was consumed with family, working part-time and volunteer work. I held various PTA Board positions and conducted fundraisers for PTA, Boy Scouts, and high school field & track.

and as the boys got older they learned to snowboard as well. While still in grade school Chris would follow his dad on the Black Diamond runs. No fear.
What I like best about now is reconnecting with old friends and making new friends. Last year a couple of us from grade school searched for fellow classmates. We had a reunion and it was fantastic seeing old friends after all of these years.(For some, it was over 42 years.) So I'm spending time on the internet again trying to find more grade school friends. Sure we have gotten older, but when I saw my old friends, they looked the same, at least most of them did.
I'm taking 3 belly dance classes, one American Tribal and two Cabaret. It's totally amazing, there is this huge belly dancing sub-culture out there. I'm meeting some great ladies in my classes and making new friends. Most of the ladies are younger than me and a few are older, but we have a common interest, BD. The ladies are so supportive and accepting. It's fun!
