Mary's Story

Life I married Aaron Rutter:Keystone,Class of 1992. We got married in May of 1994. Aaron and I have a son that was born in March of 1997. We happily reside in Wellington, Ohio. I always wanted to be a teacher when I grew up. My family and friends thought that was a good idea. As it turns out, they were right. To relax I take a few deep breaths and practice yoga moves by stretching my body and thinking happy thoughts; a warm camp fire, by a lake, when the sun is setting. I often take walks with my pugs to clear my mind of the days stressers. I like to play basketball or sing and dance with the music turned up. Dancing makes my spirit rise and singing is always good for my sole. A nice massage from my husband is always good too! My hero is my mom; my spiritual inspiration and strength comes from her. She is a truely a remarkable women. She survived a lot and has seven wonderful children to prove her strength is unbending, her courage is immeasurable, her warm heart unbreakable, and her spirit is always soaring to new heights. I will love my mother forever; even when she is no longer her on God's green earth. She taught me courage, wisdom, strength against adversity and that there is a power in me that I can succeed in whatever I try because God will see us through anything that we try to accomplish here on earth. Love is abound, we just have to do GOOD WORKS and HE will shine though us. She would always say..."If at first you don't succeed...try, try, again." I love her for her powerful short qoutes and words of wisdom. Her messages get me though every day in life. My goal and hope is to be an inpiration to set good examples and Do GOOD WORKS, like her, to my son and others, the way that she is a Hero and an inspiration to me. I was born in a hospital in Medina, Ohio. I grew up on a large farm in Penfield, Ohio. My father got a job in the late 1980's in Upper Michigan. My sister and I moved with my Mom and Dad to Norway, Michigan. I enjoyed small town life up there. The weather while a bit cold and snowy most of the time was fun. nowdrifts up to my hip. I was a cheerleader all three years that I lived up there and enjoyed it a lot. I also took part in other sports as well. Basketball was a fun sport that I really enjoyed. The U.P. (Upper Penninsula) State Olympic where fun! That is where I took part in several volloyball competitions with my team from my school, in Jr. High...Holy Spirit Central School. I then attended Norway High school; it was such a small school that "I was the High School Cross Country Team." Me and about 5 or 6 other Norwegians guys comprized the team. We took a school van to competitions and ran usually 2 or 3 miles in a single competition. Fun. Fun. Then my father thought that that the best thing for our family was to return to Ohio so that he could start his own business. We returned to Ohio. I returned to our former residence on the farm and I returned to Keystone School district. I ran Cross Country for one more school year. The competition was more fierce and it was a much larger school district. I made up my mind that working while attending school was the way to go for me. I made the decision to attend the local Joint Vocational School for Child Care. I attended Lorain County Joint Vocational School in 11th and 12th grade. I graduated with a High School Diplomia and a Certificate of Child Care for Early Childhood Development while working at a Day Care and attending high school. This is where I met my husband, though a mutual friend. We both attended Keystone High and the JVS. But we did not officially meet until the end of my senior year. Aaron had one more year of High School while I worked and tried to save money for college. He propeosed Christmas of 1993 and we got married May 14, 1994. The story continues...We have a child, Joshua. Born in March of 1997. We currently own our home in Wellington. The one person from my past who I'd most like to see again is Tanya Kocaja, because we were best buds long ago. The other three people are Angie Thorn/Yaworsky from Penfield; Katie Randall (from my school in Michigan); and Cindi Deau (also from Michigan.)
