Mary's Story
My maiden name was Mary Santa Maria. In 1972 I completed a travel school course with the Atlantic Airline Academy, that included 30 days training at the American Airlines reservation office in Hartford, Ct. I returned to Buffalo and worked as a travel agent for The Travel Store, Kenmore NY; Endres Travel, and Stewart and Benson Travel in Buffalo. In 1978 I moved to Saratoga, Wy. where I lived until 1983. During this time I briefly married becoming Mary Schlaefer. travel agency. In 1983 I divorced and returned to Buffalo as Mary Santa Maria. I then worked for Niagara Frontier Travel, managing their Eastern Hills Mall branch. In 1987 I moved to Hartford to work for American Airlines at the same office I took training in 1972. I joined The Sabre Group in 1989 and retired from AA/Sabre in 2004. I married Fernando Angell in 1990, and became Mary Angell. In 2002, we adopted our son Alexander from Russia. I worked for American Express Global Business Travel from 2011-2018. We currently reside in Osprey, FL.
