over to meet my family and have pizza and our own little Hootenanny. And how many other teachers ever bothered to teach all the boys and girls basic etiquette and rules for introductions? She taught in thematic units using music, art, and all the academic subjects, and stirred into the mix her loving appreciation of all people and cultures. Her appreciation of life and respect for others was contagious. She was one of a kind. Mr. Concannon had a wonderful sense of humor about school, himself,... life in general. I would suppose that others may have found him odd and maybe a bit flippant or disrespectful of the institution of public high school. I found his class fun and memorable, and was more engaged in his class than in any other in HS. He may have been quirky, but he loved to teach and he got my attention, which wasn't easy by the time I was in high school. :-)
