Mary's Story
After leaving CMHS, attended Layton School of Art in Milwaukee, then moved to Chicago to work for Continental IL Natl Bk & Trust while attending NWU
for three years evenings. Married in '66, had two children and stayed home to be with them, totally the joy of my life :)
Moved to FL in '74, back to TN in '80, then NC in '83 after completing a one-year course in office admin at Austin Peay State in Clarksville TN. That course netted me a job with the City of Asheville ...Expand for more
in the water dept for the next four years. Took courses in health/nutrition at Western Carolina Univ, then applied to the Biltmore Estate for a prep chef position - which was the most energy-demanding job ever held! Left NC for Ohio and landed in banking for the next several years. Bought a condo; still here.
Managing a card-system (no coins) laundromat since retirement in Sept '06, and sewing window treatments/slipcovers/pillows for model homes several times a year.
