Maryellen's Story
Life
My husband, Mark and I live in New Britain, CT. I have three daughters, Jocelyn , Monique and Davita . I also have the cutest grandson. His name is Mason and he is 2 years old. We also have 2 dogs Lani and Frodo and 2 cats, Munch and Cloie (my daughter in the Navy's cat).
Jocelyn is working at Madi & Mias, a cafe in downtown New Haven. Monique is currently enlisted in the Navy and stationed in San Diego. Davita is currently working at Apria Healthcare in Cromwell. They are all great women. My grandson Mason is a real character. He is talking up a storm and getting into everything. I've been working in Accounting for the State of Connecticut for the past 21 years. Before that I went to College at the University of New Haven while raising my girls. College
I got my Associate Degree in Business Administration in 1985 from South Central Community College. I continued at the University of New Haven and graduated in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science Degress in Accounting.
Workplace
I've been working in Hartford as a Revenue Examiner (Auditor) for the State of Connecticut, Department of Revenue Services for the past 21 years. I love my job and my co-workers. While I was attending college, I worked in New Haven at a non-profit organization, The Fair Haven Parents Ministry. I was the Fiscal Manager, which just meant that I did a bunch of things around the office, from payroll to sweeping the floor. I also loved that job and my co-workers. I can't imagine working anywhere where my co-workers weren't like family.
