Matt's Story
Life
Wow, my life in under 4000 characters. Well, I was born in DC in '75, moved to AR, then Germany, back to AR, and finally landed in AL in 5th grade. Make that, GREENVILLE, AL. I had the displeasure to spend/waste most of my childhood there, to include 365 days at Marion Military Institute. A whopping 8 years of my life I'll never get back. Did you know that Greenville was originally named "Buttsville"? I'm not making that up. I have some good friends from there whom I love very much (you punks know who you are). I also met some very nice southern girls, and got my first band kickstarted. After graduation in 93, I moved to Gulf Shores, AL until I was 21. I don't remember those years very well. I moved back to AR on my 21st, dropped out of the UofA due to chasing skirts and playing in punk bands. In 97 I joined the USAF. As fate would have it, I was stationed in AR where I met a girl named Lyla. So I married her, and adopted her daughter, Alexandria. Alex is truly one of the most amazing, most beautiful people I have ever known. I am proud to be her Daddy!...Expand for more
Shortly thereafter, I found myself in the mid-east serving in Kuwait among other places. We were stationed in Italy in 01-05. I've been all over the world, to include back to Kuwait, Spain, Germany, England, Amsterdam, Turkey, Korea, and Iceland to name a few. I served in Operation Iraqi Freedom, and still serving. Jan 04 our beautiful baby girl Ava was born. I was in a punk band in Italy called Winner By Default. Later I would be stationed at Holloman AFB, New Mexico, then separated from the Air Force. After moving back to Little Rock I joined the Army and became a Combat Medic and started another punk band, EVEN I. You can check it out on MySpace at myspace dot com slash evenipunk. I just returned from Baghdad, Iraq kicking much ass with the 39th Infantry, and taking care of my fellow soldiers...once again serving the Iraqi Freedom campaign. I am finally home after being gone for close to 2 years. I work full time for the AR Army National Guard as both a medic and computer programmer. If you are someone from my past who is reading this, hit me up on e-mail.
